Chhath  is an ancient and only Vedic festival dedicated to the  Sun and is performed on the sixth day after Diwali to thank the deity for sustaining life on earth.

The Sun, considered the god of energy and of the life-force, is worshiped during the Chhath festival to promote well-being, prosperity and progress. The festival is  mainly celebrated in the eastern states of Bihar and Jharkahnd. Due to migration, the rituals are  now witnessed in nearly all major cities of India. This year it was celebrated on 19th of November.
